UrbanCurlz Tip Of The Day

Pin Curls are the perfect way to create big, voluminous curls without the damage of heat and the pain of rollers. They are also an alternative to nightly wrapping and can protect your hair while exercising.

Here's how to create pin curls
Step 1: Start with straightened hair
Step 2: Take medium-large sections of the hair smoothing each section into one large curl
Step 3: Twist the curl down onto the scalp in a creating a circle. Create 6-12 curls depending on your length and thickness
Step 4: Secure the curl with two bobby pins in an 'x' position or a metal prong clip
Step 5: Cover with scarf and allow the curls to set overnight (the longer the better)
Step 6: Carefully finger style the curls into place to preserve the body and prevent frizzing

I've seen some beautiful styles from pin curling and im so jealous because i've tried it twice and both times i looked a hot mess when i un-pinned them =( The only thing i could was pull it back in a semi curly pony tail. I definitely couldnt wear it down. Idk i guess i jus dnt hav the technique yet.

I think the key is to roll it in the same direction.

pin curling your hair is a great way to get curls for naturals that are transitioning without the heat.

pfft, next we need a tutorial on how to get a stomach like that^
